Welcome to Gustavo Soares State Farm Agency! We are celebrating 9 years! I became a State Farm agent in 2015 after working for over a decade in the luxury hospitality industry. Since becoming an agent, I have worked hard to keep our Portland, Oregon, community protected from unexpected challenges. We are one of the fastest growing offices in Oregon. I was born in Brazil and moved to Florida over 20 years ago where I completed my degree in business management and marketing from Florida Atlantic University. I went on to receive my MBA from FAU as well. My knowledge of business and experience in the hospitality and customer service industry have helped me flourish as a State Farm agent. In my spare time, I love spending time with my wife, son, and dog. My hobbies include spending time in nature, hiking, exercising, and playing the guitar. I was born and raised in New Jersey. I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelors in Political Science. My work experience ranges from finance to hospitality having worked at Merrill Lynch at the World Trade Center in New York, NY for 6 years and at The Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, FL for 11 years.

At State Farm, I enjoy the ability to help people every day, whether assessing their needs regarding auto insurance, home insurance and life insurance or assisting customers through the claims process.

I help people prepare for the unexpected and difficult times ahead by asking questions and providing recommendations. My favorite policy is the "paycheck protection" policy because it is the only policy that pays the customer!

I’m an Oregon native and have lived in a handful of cities in the outskirts of the Portland area. I grew up around cars and heavy machine equipment. I'd never imagined myself working at an insurance company helping customers with their auto insurance, home and renters insurance and life insurance.

State Farm hits all the boxes I wanted to check for a career: it involves cars, helping people and building relationships. Although I like each policy in its own way, homeowners insurance quotes are always exciting because I get to see all the unique homes Portland has to offer!
